Self-catering holiday cottages in Great Plumstead

The small rural village of Great Plumstead is centrally located for enjoying a diverse range of attractions. Whether you want to meander by boat through the magical waterways of the Norfolk Broads, head to the city of Norwich, or spend the day on a sandy beach, you are just a short drive away from it all. The city of Norwich is packed full of culture with cobbled streets, a castle, and a cathedral to explore.

Not forgetting a great spot for some retail therapy, along with a traditional market, two malls plus many independent shops, it is easy to see why Norwich is often voted as one of the best shopping locations in the UK. Families will especially enjoy nearby Great Yarmouth, with lots on offer including a sandy beach, amusement arcades, donkey rides, the pleasure beach, a SEA LIFE centre, end-of-pier shows, a model village, a cinema, a horse racing track, a selection of museums and a leisure centre.

The area is excellent for enjoying birdwatching and exploring wildlife at a wide variety of fens including our own adopted charity, Wheatfen Nature Reserve located in Surlingham. The area is also great for cycling; one particular excellent route around the beautiful Broadlands covering 18 miles actually starts in Great Plumstead and takes you to Acle. For golf lovers, you can visit Bawburgh Golf Club and Dunston Hall – both are set in acres of beautiful countryside and are open all year round.
