Self-catering holiday cottages in Field Dalling

You will find Field Dalling to be a quiet peaceful village, great for relaxation and only 3 miles from the North Norfolk coast. The closest coastal village is Morston; sailing is very popular here and we would highly recommend taking one of the boat trips across to Blakeney where you can see the seal colony that lives here. On some of the tours, you are also able to get out of the boat to explore this sandy stretch further.

Morston has two excellent eateries: the Anchor Inn which serves fantastic locally sourced produce including Cromer crabs and Morston mussels, and the Michelin-stared Morston Hall run by celebrity chef Galton Blackiston which is a fine dining experience and perfect for special occasions.

Norfolk is often described as being the birdwatching capital of the UK, and in this area, it is easy to see why – Cley Marshes is Norfolk’s Wildlife Nature Trusts oldest and best-known nature reserve. The shingle beach, saline lagoons, marshes and reedbeds encourage a large number of wintering and migrating wildfowl and waders, as well as bitterns, marsh harriers and bearded tits. Also, an eco-friendly visitor centre with a café, shop, exhibition space and spectacular viewing area is interesting even if you are not a bird expert.

A stay in Field Dalling wouldn’t be complete without a visit to at least one of the beautiful sandy beaches; you will be spoilt for choice with spots like Cromer, Wells-next-the-Sea, Brancaster and the award-winning Holkham to explore during your Norfolk cottage holiday.

If you are looking for a bit of retail therapy, you won’t be disappointed with the unique towns of Holt and Burnham Market. They are home to a wide selection of independent shops and galleries, plus a number of cafes which are perfect for a quick stop and watching the world go by over tea and cake.
